A popular Japanese newspaper, Nihon Keizai Shinbun, mentioned in its morning edition both the price and release date for the PS2 hard drive add-on. The device will arrive in Japan on July 19 in two different versions. The external version will cost 19,000 yen, around $152.45 USD. The internal version will cost 18,000 yen, around $144.43 USD.
The article mentions Sony will initially ship 10,000 units to stores on launch day. The amount available for online sales is still unknown.
