On Thursday, Konami announced that it will release Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty for the North American PlayStation 2 this November. The Japanese release will follow one month later in December. According to Konami, the reason for the earlier release in North America is to coincide with the holiday shopping season, beginning Thanksgiving Day. The game was originally planned for a simultaneous worldwide release. Released in September 1998, the first Metal Gear Solid game for the PlayStation has sold more than 6 million copies worldwide to date.

So 2001 still sounds possible for MGS2 then?

Devil May Cry as well? Jak and Daxter? Wipeout Fusion?

As I've posted on the FoG forum, this would imply that we'll get it same time as the Japanese - it was supposed to be a global release date, but the US is getting it slightly earlier for their holiday season.
