I watched the IGN video review for PSI-OPS on the PS2 and was quite simply amazed of what was on offer and despite knowing about it I was completely unaware of how detailed and in-depth a title it was going to be. Using the latest 2.0 Havoc Physics engine you basically control a mercenary with a king pin style story line all viewed through the 3rd person in a typical Max Payne esque fashion.
Unlike normal 3rd person games you can use your mind to control the enemies and at will you can throw them around, pick them up using your mind, force them into fans and use electricity to explode limbs of your foes, all this using full Havoc physics with the latest technology which keeps the game looking extremely sweet. For those with IGN Insider download their video review or if anyone has an ISP account with a 100mb limit (i.e. BT) I would be willing to send it to them (around 80mb).
It is due out for release here mid September however this has been ear marked for a US purchase which I will place next week so I will lob personal impressions on it as and when. It was more of a post to point you towards the game as if you were thinking "ohh sheet it's another load of Midway crap" you may want to reconsider and give the game a second look, just to see free flowing Havoc physics with some original ideas in place.
I am starting to retract my feelings about modern games not living up to original classics, this year alone I have played some games worthy of anyone’s collection, no less than Riddick, Full Spectrum Warrior or Ninja Gaiden; all released recently.
Or something to that effect.
SFR2049 was an impulse buy after a positive N64 mage review. By God was it worth it. Massive single player - only 6 racing tracks, but each one was PACKED full of coins, secrets, special routes and switches to reach other, new areas. Stunt mode was fantastic, only 4 levels but the final Warehouse one made Tony Hawks look stupid - it was that good. From the simple Marina to the gorgeous and dark Presidio (I've still got coins to get on that)....ahhh......genius - all the tracks were perfect. From attempting to land on a moving oil tanker to grab a gold coin to simply burning it at 150mph over a switch, pounding through an underground station and flying out onto the road above, snatching a coin on the way.....Jesus, I love this game. Battle mode in multiplayer was even a great laugh - plenty of fun to be had there, and multiplayer races were cracking, especially when you knocked your opponent into a tram or a wall and made them go Kaboom!.

Seriously, I'll PAY Midway to make a new one, if it has 16 player Xbox Live, a huge, huge, huge amount of tracks and cars - all in the future of course. Even like 3/4 different futuristic cities, packed full of upgrades, movement, coins, alternative routes, speed strips, loops, giant aquariams with waterfalls on them, trains, trams, massive jumps and speedbowls...............
It just has to be done.
OH! And of course aeroplanes making flypasts over a massive jump, meaning you can collide with them. I was proud when I did that!
> 2049 and Hydro are both great game, its just pure fun.

Revolt was cool, racing RC cars had a strange addiction for me!
You guys tried Revolt? Thats a good game too.
Used to love that game for some reason.
.................................
I.
LOVE
That game.
One of my most favourite games ever. EVER.
A Cube/Xbox/Live sequel/remake even, would be a god-send.
RUSH 2049
Wipeout 64
Gauntlet 64
Strange but good games. :)
