But I'll probably be crap at both. Anything else out now or soon really worth getting? Preferably a Live game as well.

Conan's very very good so far, played about an hour and a half into it. The Combo's are simple but effective and you get to buy the ones you want with your experience points, there's also a decent story which is perfectly balanced to be interesting but not to be so long it gets in the way of the action.
Happy is I.

Yea I agree with you, PGR2's problem, and probably it's only problem, is track design. It's not that they're badly designed, it's just that they are built for street racing. That's the reason why I prefer Toca2, it has brilliant track designs as they are based on real tracks that are actually designed to be raced on.
But you have to remember the Kudos system, if you had plenty of run off space, like gravel traps ans stuff, then the game would be far too easy. When you're street racing it's much more risky, so in some way, PGR2's tracks reflect that.

I don't mean to seem like a moaning git here, but if you get THUG you'll have it finished within hours.
The tracks are perfect and accurate to real life, well of the cities I've been in. I had an aunt stay with me a couple of weeks ago, I'm nessing about in Chicago and she recognised it straight away. That's how good they are.
It's good, really good. But for me TOCA Race Driver 2 and Rallisport Challenge 2 both crush it online and off.
