For everything we do in games, there's an appropriate saying. Take the following examples:

On Nintendo's decision to stick with the cartridge when designing the N64:
"Experience is something you don’t get until after you need it."

On the British PS2 shortage earlier this year:
"It’s always darkest before dawn. So if you’re going to steal your neighbour’s PS2, that’s the time to do it."

On Microsoft's sacking of Clippy:
"Don’t be irreplaceable; if you can’t be replaced, you can’t be promoted."

Every time EA produce a FIFA edition:
"Always remember you’re unique, just like everyone else."

On Sega's demise from the hardware market:
"Never test the depth of water with both feet."

On Sniper:
"It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others."

For secluded gamers everywhere:
"If you think nobody cares if you’re alive, try missing a couple of car payments."

For Forum Flamers:
"Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you’re a mile away and you have their shoes."

What Sega should have said a few years back...
"If at first you don’t succeed, skydiving is not for you."

Solid Snake:
"Don’t squat with your spurs on."

For those that have broken their big brother's N64/PS2:
"If you tell the truth, you don’t have to remember anything."

For anyone who has ever played Unreal Tournament:
"Some days you are the bug, some days you are the windshield."

What Square Soft said to Nintendo after they said they'd stick with the cartridge on the N64:
"Good judgment comes from bad experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgement."

The philosophy behind combo moves on Tekken 3:
"Timing has an awful lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance."

Grix's theory of Life, the Universe and Everything:
"Duct tape is like the force it has a light side & a dark side, and it holds the universe together."

Beware, posters, of the hopelessness of debate in these forums:
"There are two theories to arguing with women. Neither one works."

Hello, the Saturn:
"Experience is the sinking feeling you have made this mistake before."

For me:
"Never miss a good chance to shut up."
