It was only 4:30pm when suddenly our land was invaded by White English men. My sister who I was living with managed to escape but I was not so lucky. I was only 14 when this happened. My mother was badly beaten by the English men, and my father was shot, because he tried to save my mother from getting beaten. I was chained up and sent down to the camp, where we would go to have fun and just to meet up with our friends. When I arrived at the camp there were thousands of other people there who had been caught. We were given a rope to hold on to, and formed a line. No one tried to run away because the English were armed with weapons.
The journey seemed like forever and many people didn’t make it. We were thrown onto a ship, and I couldn’t believe how many slaves were crammed on the ship. I was about 10 meters away from the bucket, so I was lucky because if I needed to go to the toilet I would be able to, unlike the ones further away. If the ones who were further away needed to go to the toilet they would just have to relive themselves where they were sleeping. I witnessed many horrible scenes that contained many women getting raped. After about 3 weeks into the journey to America I started to get weak. No one knew what this was all about, but it was not going to be something good. We were not given much to eat, and when we were fed, it was nothing good. As I was near starving I would eat just about anything. People were so desperate to get food they were all snatching it from each other.
After about 3 months I was beginning to get really ill so they unchained me for 3 days. While I was unchained I managed to look around the ship for a bit and the things I saw were very unpleasant. One man was getting whipped for trying to get a little extra food. One night when everyone was trying to get to sleep I overheard a conversation between a few men. I couldn’t hear properly because if they were caught talking they would have get whipped and beaten. I did hear that they were going to try to over run the ship. They didn’t know how and they didn’t know when but they knew that they were going to do it.
Every night the same men were discussing how to over run the ship. The idea sounded good, but I had an awful feeling about this. Eventually the word got around and everyone was ready to fight for freedom. One man pick locked the lock for the weapons and handed out all kind of weapons for us. Even I got hold of a gun somehow. I had never held a gun before, let alone kill someone. We were hours away from the attempt to over run the ship now, and I was getting very nervous.
The time now was 2:30am and we all knew that most of the guards would have been asleep so we decided that this was the best time for the attack. We crept around the ship when we saw a guard facing the other way. One man leapt towards him and stabbed him in the back. This alerted another guard who fired towards us. The English guard fired at us and got one man in the stomach. We all then charged the guard and took him out.
We had now over run the ship! We had two English men left. One for sailing the ship the other for directing the ship.
We got all the food out, and were over the moon, knowing that we had fought our way to out freedom. We ordered the sailor to turn the ship around and head back to Africa. We won our freedom back and we healed the sick. Every man was looking forward to seeing his family.

I hope I have helped you understand what a terrible experience these people went through.
Cheers.
Happy Independence Day everyone. To celebrate, I had a cheeseburger for dinner.
Whilst the abuse done to millions of people around the world today is largely ignored...
U-571 anyone?
Dont get me wrong I hate the past of England, very bloody, very horrible and very upsetting.
Looking back, someone should really make an apology on behalf of a modern Britain. President Tony Blair could do that, as soon as he kicks out all the Lords and Ladys and gets rid of the Queen and the other scroungers claiming our money.
It would be nice if the Monarchy made an apology before it was abolished, but then we dont expect them to understand the views of the people do we.
On another note it bugs me that Americans make movies and portray the English as starting the slave trade, true the English did, but so did many other European countries and those European and English people gave rise to America. America should also take the blame for its wrongs as the British should for its mistakes such as Northern Ireland, India, Africa etc..
I hope I have helped you understand what a terrible

A point in history where large numbers of people went through unimaginable pain and suffering? ... now theres a surprise :)
