I havent been on this site for ages, I like the new look
of it all. Anyway to the point, I do not have the joy of xbox
live as we cannot get broadband in my street (which sucks as they
have it just up the road). I have been told and read that there
is a way of getting onto live useing a standerd internet connection,
but people that do this ruin any game they join. I would not be doing this
as the last thing I want to do is ruin things for other peeps on live, but I would love to get the pgr2 downloads. Would this work? would Bill send the guys round? Is there any other way of getting the downloads? Any help

Just ask a friend who has Live, if you can put his settings into your Xbox, take it to his house and download there. Then erase his settings from your Xbox (or keep them if you need them in future).

You need broadband.
There's no "56kbps is fine but mucks it up for others" about it.
You can not connect to the Xbox Live service if your connection is slower than a certain speed, 256kbps I believe.

I dont want to join any games as it co*ks things up for

If you know someone willing in a nearby street with broadband access and a high speed connection (such as a 2MB - otherwise I'll kick you out of any games of mine you join if sharing a wireless standard broadband connection) - you could connect wirelessly - assuming the nearby street is close enough to whatever hardware you acquire.
Other than that, you're gonna have to wait for Broadband to become available.
