can anyone tell me why this 9800 pro grpahics card (see top hyperlink) costs more than this x800 pro graphics card (see bottom link).
I thought that the x900 was the new model and all its specs appear to be higher and the company is the same for both cards

That 9800XT is passively cooled which makes it worth a lot more money, although not quite the jaw-dropping sum SR want for it (imo :O).

Simply the RRP of the 9800XT is still higher. When ATI drop the price of it and X800s become common place then they will get sold off cheaper.

Pre-order? It's got nothing to do with that.

It's more likely due to SR being lazy and not updating it.

it's because the 9800xt is in stock now and the x800 has not been released yet and so you can only pre-order it
