Tomorrow is always a day away, and there's always something better just around the corner. You can't wait for ever!
What will you really do when the GAMECUBE and Xbox arrive, sit back and enjoy, or look to what's coming next? Playstation 2 owners, waiting for Metal Gear Solid 2? Go buy a game NOW! The future will arrive soon enough, and become the present. Don't forget the present of gaming.
Dreamcast owners shouldn't jump ship just yet, there's more to play right now! The console may not have a future, but it has a wealth of quality games on the shelves now! Look at Sonic Adventure 2 or Skies Of Arcadia, grab the games whilt they're cheap!!
N64 owners, don't give up just yet. Look towards the GAMECUBE, but play games now! Play Conker, Banjo Tooie, or Excitebike. If you want to wait, look not so far away, look to Paper Mario!
When the Playstation 2 was launched with so many titles, some of them didn't sell well. The best games sold, but others simply didn't get a look it, because when people where finished playing on the titles they wanted, they thought they had to wait for the next wave, rather than taking a look at some of the titles they'd missed.
So people, don't lose sight of what we've got. It's great. The future will always be there to look forward to, but let's not do it at the expense of the present!

If everyone was to think this way in the gaming world if the hype would stop as well, which in my eyes is a good thing.
However, I can not help but look forward to MGS2 for the PS2, but that doesn’t mean to say I will stop playing games that I have today. I am still playing Sonic1, I wish the gaming world would slow down a bit. It only seems like yesterday when I first got my MegaDrive.

And I'm not even near onions...

I agree wholeheartedly with the Nintendo situation, although it depends on how many third party games are released when the console is, and what they are. Then again, if you believe the rumours, however, Nintendo have had problems giving development kit to their third party guys so far. Hopefully this is a completely wrong rumour, or it has now been sorted.
Vicious circles everywhere, hopefully, like raindrops in a puddle, they are ever decreasing circles too....

Trouble is, I don't have time to read every topic. Especially just lately. I'm finding it increasingly more difficult to find decent topics to respond too, (they seem to slip away too quickly) soI'm starting new threads with things that have probably already been said, or I'm going totally off topic on other's threads!
Ah well, such is life.
'tis true though, people look forward too often and forget the past.
Not I. I'm trying to finish the Adventures of Link (Zelda 2) for the NES....
Anywho, to combat the problem of people wanting the new, the GAMECUBE will only be released with 2 first party games available in Japan. That way the other games can be released shortly after, and will still sell thanks to the 'new' factor. Bit risky if you ask me, people won't buy the console until the games thay want are out.
The Dreamcast is a good example of a console with a brighter past than future, and there are some great games to be had, some at bargain prices too. If you haven't witness the fun of Jet Set Radio, MSR or Virtua Tennis yet then the summer is the perfect time to do this. Even if you have played these games, isn't it time you dusted them off and put those shiny discs back in your machine before the next batch of titles takes over all of your spare time.
The Nintendo 64 isn't quite dead and buried yet, either. Got one? Well, how long since you played it? I'm sure you've already forgotton how good the first 64 Zelda game was, perhaps a replay is in order. Rediscover the watery delights of Waverace when the hosepipe bans take effect, or perhaps a wonder around Mario's castle of delights is in order, remembering just how good it was to clock that giant munching monster once and for all. Diddy kong and Banjo are just crying out for another race after being left in the back of the cupboard for so long and Fox McCloud still needs your help, even after he's saved the world a couple of times.
Replay value seems all but forgotton in the days of rushed releases and with new games and systems hitting the shelves all the time, so take a deep breath and walk back down retro avenue, just a little, and let your older games know they haven't been entirely forgotton.
I know, things rotate on this forum more often than a dog chasing his own tail, but I'll find my post and use it as a reply to this...
