I just looked on my memory card, and I found a blue cube called "corrupted data". I asked my brother and he can't tell me, can you tell me what this means?

Basically means you turned off your ps2 while a game was saving or something so the file corrupts and you can't use it anymore.
Already done, I just want to know what it is and how iot came to exist.
