"Why does nobody sell Power Switches???"

Ive just had my PowerSupply unit Pass away to the next world. The problem is its not a switchable power supply but one that has to be turned on via the motherboard, more specifically the switch on attached to the motherboard.

My question is if this switch is present on most PC Cases then why cant you get a replacement for it.

I tried Special Reserve and then Maplin electronics, but no luck.

wwhat type of motherboard are you working with, because power supplies and getting very cheap now and if you go to ebay then you can buy about 10 power supplies for £10 or something, and god knows why nothing sells power switches, probably so we gotta buy a whole new unit,

just terrible :P,

p.s. if you got a 486 take my advice and buy a new computer all together.

I've seen those on my School's PCs. I've never really seen the point.

Thats true although the price of a Switchable Power Supply unit is a lot more than a switch! For now this old 486 power supply I found on a University Skip will suffice.

You shouldn't need one. The kind of power supply your talking about is ATX, just buy a new ATX power supply (not an AT one).
