You have just read the name of this topic.

You know exactly what the blanked out word means.

You have heard it many times before.

The question is, would you be more offended if the word wasn't blanked out?

The answer is no. Today's society provides censorship in the newspapers and on Tv for such words, but realistically, you know what the word is, the censored word provokes the same emotions and thoughts as printing the real thing. It really makes no sense to me why the censorship occurs.

I am not stating that all newspapers should be full of swear words, or the like, but simply don't print them anyway. I know I have probably used many, many curse words in my time, but really there is no need for them, and in my opinion this point should be addressed strongly.

I am not saying that we should be exposed to all these swear words, but just remove them from the print anyway.

I am saying that if a kid sees a censored word, he/she will know exactly what it means, and it will affect them in the same way.

Well, bad language has now evolved into strong language. "This film contains strong language" - no longer do they call it bad language, and I am appalled by the young children and older generations too - using it out of place. Ok, everyone gets mad sometimes, and the use of swearing will emphasise your angriness - so why the **** use it in everyday conversation? :)

I don't swear often, ok loads of people do, loads of people find it really offensive, but kids use words that they don't even know the meaning of. If you use these words all the time - every other word in some cases, how will people know when you get really stressed, really annoyed - say nothing at all?

I am not promoting the use of foul and abusive language - because most people do find it foul, yeah it can be used in a humerous stance, but on these forums and everywhere you need censorship, the **** can be used, because especially here young children may be influenced.

Swearing isn't cool, its just something that loads of people do. "Watch your language young man"

OK.

I've had my say - well done for bringing this up.
