Ok, so we've only got two British players left in the singles championship, but then no one really expected anything else. I have managed to amke time to watch every Henman and Rusedski match, all except Tim's against that other British player, have been fantastic matches to watch.

You probably won't agree with me but already it looks as though this will be the best Wimbledon Championships in a very long time. So far we've had the excitement of the Cowan Sampras match - a game where Cowan matched Sampras right until the end - an absolutely brilliant spectacle to watch on the good old BBC, I can't imagine how good the atmosphere must have been at Wimbledon! I haver never been, but maybe soon. Cowan will be back next year, and his career should take off from now!

Arvind Parmar manged to get to the second round and started off brilliantly, winning the opening set, against Olympic champion Yevgeny Kafelnikov, but unfortunately he crumbled and lost in four sets. Still, a very good showing from the promising young player from Hitchin. He'll be back next year, but the fact that he actually won a set against one of the best players in the world - someone who could very likely win the championship, is very encouraging.

TIm Henman fought of Shalken in 4 sets, and looks in good shape for the challenge of in form Tod Martin. I personally feel that Greg Rusedski is our best hope of reaching the latter stages - Henman is inconsistent and just throws his game away at times, whereas Greg looks unstoppable at the moment. A convincing thrashing of 8th seed Ferror after 2 rounds of superb tennis. He's confident, is the fastest server left in the championships - his 144 so far was beaten by Leyton Hewitt's opponent Dent, but he lost to the Stella Artois champion.

So, Jamie Delgado lost to Agassi, but then most people do. I very much doubt that a British player will win the championship, but there's bound to be plenty of stunning matches ahead. So far Pat Rafter, with his new hair style, has performed one of the most amazing shots of the game, winning the point and keeping the crowd entertained - I am sure he'll make the semi finals at least and his point will be the point of Wimbledon. Hewitt and Dent - the USA's two most promising young players, had a fantastic match, with Hewitt as the victor - I can see him going all the way to the final. These two players in my view are the new Agassi and Sampras - Dent has an incredibly powerful serve and helped keep the crowd delightfully excited throughout.

The Sampras Cowan match was also incredibly tense and exciting with some superb Tennis being played, anyone who dismisses Cowan as just another British player, who won't ever get anywhere, is mad!

Anyway, I hate to say it but the Women's game hasn't been as great, with no British talent getting anywhere significant, but then they haven't done for a while. Still as good to watch, if not better, than the mens game - depending on who's playing of course...

So, I conclude - these Championships are superb already, they've helped deter the audience from going mad with boredom at listening to John McEnroe babble on in the same monotonous voice, and they've produced some magic so far. Plenty more to come.

My prediction for the winner? Could be any of 5 in my view - Sampras, Agassi, Hewitt, Rafter or Kaflenikov. Rusedski could make the semis - he's our best hope by far!

So what are your views on the tennis so far?

But enough about Anna Kournikova, I have also been watching the tennis recently and I think the mens tournament is wide open. I have seen quite a few people that, in my view, have what it takes to go all the way and win. Obviously, Pete Sampras is a contender, Aggassi is beating people for fun at the moment with straight set victories and Hewitt looks in good form.

Also, Greg and Tim are not doing to badly, they both look in good shape and have done the task in hand so far.

For the womens, it looks like one of the William's sisters or Davenport will win, I can't see anyone else winnnig apart from these three.

Venus is through - the lack of quality in the women's games means that the final games are really the only ones worth watching, in my view. Unless of course, two decent players play eachother.

Venus has it in the bag again I think. Dokic in the quarters for sure. Davenport will be a semi finalist and Serena looks in great shape.

So the mighty Russian is out!

Yevgeny...what have you done?

Looks like the Aussies are going to have a nice few years of tennis - Rafter and Hewitt versus Agassi & Sampras. How good would that be?

Yes indeed he is. I was going to rectify this earlier, but he was playing and it was good.

He is Australian. Thus, he'll win Wimbledon!

Hmm - here's hopin' eh?

If Sampras and Henman clash in the quarters... I can't see the world number one being beaten :( But anything's possible!
