I am just a it worried about the launch titles for the Gamecube in Japan. Nintendo are only releasing two games for the GC for the september launch: luigi's mansion and Waverace. This is a bit pathetic no? Seems to be reminesent of the 64 launch.

Apparrently though, this does not include 3rd party games. So thee should be much more than 2 games available. Also there is supposed to be 19 games by the end of this year.

I think that only 2 first-party games are being released so that those two games sell.

As Super Smash Bros, Pikmin, and others are due to launch in November in the US, they'll probably launch in Japan in October, so software will be released on a more regular basis, rather than simply releasing all the games at once, and having a long wait for a second wave of games.

Luigi's Mansion and Wave Race are good titles to choose for the Japanese audience.. The US market is very, very different, with the consumer wanting more, more, more, so more titles will be available for launch there.

Here in the UK I'm expecting a healthy amount of games to be launched with the system.

Luigi's Mansion
Wave Race
Super Smash Bros
Star Wars: Rogue Leader
Star Fox Adventure
Eternal Darkness

There will also be some third party games, with Super Monkey Ball from Sega a definite. The Batman game shown at E3 is also a likely launch title, and although nothing official has been announced yet, apparently Capcom are in the finishing stages of Resident Evil 0!

As long as they'll be releasing a few games (5 will do) in UK, I don't really care what happens in Japan. Besides, it can't do as bad as the PS2's launch (hopefully).

That does not include third party games. In the US they will be releasing 17 first and third party games. There will probably be around eight launch titles.

Nintendo don't want to fall into the same trap as the PS2 did with releasing too many games. None of the games sold as many as they would have done if they were released seperately.
