Yeah I can only see point and click games surviving on consoles in the form of unlockable bonus games or on gaming compilations.
Unfortunately, next to newer puzzle solvers such as Eternal Darkness and Zelda, point and click games are very dated - and trying to adapt them for newer consoles is a tough job (Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon was apparently average and very short).
Their time has come and gone, but I'm still all for a new Monkey Island game. The original was superb, and if Lucas Arts could give the franchise a makeover - with a new, open ended style of play and third-person perspective - then it could be great.
