i have downloaded a backup copy of simcity 4, and have had problems playing it. the first one is when you load it up for the first time, it just freezes untill you do ctrl+alt+delete. it says in the task manager that the GDriver-directx is not responding. once you have got past that problem, the game randomly crashes when loading up cities, or once you have created one and doing things in it.

anybody have any ideas?

i should think that it can run on that card....i don't see why not.
but i have not been able to play it long enough to find out, i wouldn't know how to do it. my idea would be to read the manual.

Well, I would like to ask paul_the_invincible two questions:

1)Can Simcity 4 run on a 'Radeon 9550' Graphics-card?

and

2)Can people use the arrow keys to drive the cars?

Thanx!

Have you got DirectX 9.0b and your latest graphics cards drivers installed? I recently got the game myself and it crashed as soon as I loaded it up, after quickly installing DirectX 9 and the latest Radeon drivers the problem seemed to correct itself.

Alternatively, you could try the 9MB patch which may fix whatever problem you are having, just http://www.gamershell.com/download_1809.shtml

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Just a quick note to say thanks for a very good service ... in fact excellent service..
