PC games are low on profit per game. It's true that there are no royalties to the console makers, only to the people who write the games, and this should allow the games to be cheaper.

But in reality I assume that the sales are lower because there are more games and there is a lot of piracy.

The problem with games really is that it costs a HUGE amount to program them and selling at budget prices, and even pocket-money prices, has devalued the market, and reduced the percieved value of the games. Therefore is is no longer viable for people to write them!!!

All I will say on this is

Margin on the consoles themselves is
> LOW.

When you say PC games are low on profit do you mean per game or total sales? As I am probably wrong but I thought PC games were not licensed so unlike console games no perentage of the profits go to Nintendo or Sega etc.

The idea is not to make money on consoles, just on the games.

I bet you make a lot of money from PSone&2 games.
