A while back everybody was talking about it, Dream Factory/Square where releasing little bits of information about the game itself and dropping a few screen shots and the odd trailer, everybody was loving it. Now the game has been released i have one question, is it any good?
I've read numerous reviews about the game and the general view tends to be that it's ranks in-between average and poor. One such review (http://www.gamecritics.com /review_thebouncer.html)
talks about how they have labelled it as a part beat'em up part RPG as being slightly misleading. It also mentions that, and i quote:
"To talk about The Bouncer’s shortcomings, the biggest and most obvious thing to most gamers (besides anything related to the fact that it’s a movie and not a game) will be that the amount of actual playtime is less than a third of the game’s total length. Running time is about two and a half hours to complete, and if the player skips watching the cinemas, it’s possible to finish the game in under 45 minutes....."
.....and.....
"When taking on three, four or more opponents at once, the camera never failed to find the most inappropriate angle possible, often leaving most or all of the enemies completely off screen."
Although i have to say that this is only one persons point of view and some other reviews (http://ps2.ign.com/previews/13592.html) rant about how good the game actually is. From what i've seen (from reviews, adverts and Game Network Channel 223) the graphics look very good but the gameplay itself reminds of "Fighting Force" which wasn't exactly a brilliant game and i don't want to spend £40 on a game that is just a polished up version. Any views from people who have actually played the game would be well appreciated as i'm still making up my mind whether to get this game or no.

It might be fun to hire, complete in a day, and then return, but it probably isn`t worth the full price of a game.
> Hey has anyone noticed that The Bouncer is just like Final Fantasy
> VIII? The characters are etremely like the characters Final Fantasy
> VIII.
Well it is partly made by Square (makers of the Final Fantasy series) so that would exmplain it and they do look similar to the charactesr from Final Fantasy. One of the characters called Volt Krueger has a picture of a catus from FF 7 on his left arm.

It is absolute crap. My friend brought it for his birthday and after ten minutes we had watched 9 minutes FMV's and beat the crap out of a poor little man, not very injoyable.
People say rent it before you buy but in less they are giving it away simply spit on it and run away.
The main problem is the lack of involvment, its like watching a film, but a film which makes you feel physically sick (especially if you've spent £40 on it).
If you have enough to buy it, save for a bit longer and buy a Gameboy advance(please don't kill me! SONY RULE!!!!), you will not be disappointed or wait until July 20 and buy Gran Turismo 3.
