I have had my xbox since 7am launch day i know it wont play copied cd's but why if i play a copied dvd it plays them and not a cd? anyone know or have the same thing happen? oh and i got to play Chronicles of riddick at the weekend and i must say its one of the best games ive played for ages!

There are 3 drives, samsung, phillips and thompson.
If you have a Samsung it will play coppied cd's.

A Samsung drive will play CD-R/RW - so if you have an audio CD on one of those, it'll pick it up.
You still can't copy any compressed music onto the Xbox though, like MP3, WMA etc.
And like Gamesfreak said, if it's copied game you're trying to play, it will need to be chipped - right after you have turned yourself in at the local plodshop for piracy...

I'll re-iterate on what I told the other guy.
If you want to play "copied CD's" you'll need to install a modchip of some sorts.

Are the music tracks on the disc as CDA or as MP3/WMA/etc?
