Call me tech head but as gadget-freak one of the things I'm most interested in about the PS2 is Sony's plan to make it the centre of home entertainment. Sony is the only company who can realistically do this. Sega and Nintendo may be major players alongside Sony in the games industry but Sony has long been a known brand for TV's, videos, stereos, and DVD players. I can't wait to order any film via a broadband link and watch it on my PS2 rather than wait in a queue at Blockbusters.

When I want the option of watching a dodgy film I've seen a 27 times on video I'll take the Sky Box Office route. Because Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's rubbish movie about poker players is worth an all-day movie ticket. 4 good films came out on video this week and won't be seen on Sky for at least 3 months. A PS2 based video shop would allow me to watch them tonight and with no worries about any of them being out of stock.
