hi all just joined freeola
i just have gained access to my ftp upload folder htdocs
uploaded all my files went to run install file
then nothing it keeps retuning an 404 error
i uploaded a readme file to test
pointed my browser to it and nothing but 404 error can anyone help my account is only 24hrs old

I have no problems running either DragonflyCMS or phpBB software via Freeola. Having said that, both use php setup scripts. You may need to CHMOD the directory permissions to allow the setup to correctly write to the folder - worst case scenario try CHMOD the /htdocs folder to 777 whlst the install script runs (don't forget to change it to whatever YaBB requires once you're done!)
Try it again in the morning (well its morning now ;-) the servers can take up to 24 hours to update, that said some BBs do not work on freeola as I once tried it and it messed up every thing - freeola support were not to happy with me that day.

I'm guessing where you mention running an install you may be trying to set up a BB or similar?
Try FTPing a simple HTML file and make sure it's called index.html (or htm) you shouldn't get a 404 then.
Post the site address if you are still having problems.
