"Dringo Vs Notables"

FantasyMeister, Grix Thraves, Meka_Dragon, Sniper, Ant, er-no and SHEEPY. The Notables the most respected men in FOG but Dringo is against the idea!

Indeed someone who might be in the running for a future election but he's reluctance had led him into a path of hate towards Notables!

FantasyMeister, Grix Thraves, Meka_Dragon, Sniper, Ant, er-no and SHEEPY were all sitting in King Tony's spare castle whilst the a stormed raged outside, discussing the finer points of the world of Gaming over supper and the 7 failed to notice the shadow that passed beyond the window, In the garden awaited Dringo, and he eyed the place cautiously!

"Well personally the Gamecube is better" er-no said to Ant
"Ha you are joaking you cannot win I can Playstation rule!" Ant replied in his forthright mannor.

Tony layed back and relaxed, he had indeed raised a fine lot of men to lead Chatforums but by laying back he spotted a shadow move across the glass plane in the roof.

"What the..." Tony exclaimed
"What" Grix replied intrigued over Tony's sudden outburst
"Up there I saw something" Tony pointed towards the roof

Everyone looked up,

"Your paranoid Tony" said Meka
"yep" Continued Sheepy both sitting back down

er-no, Grix thraves, FM, Tony and sheepy all continued to gaze into the black window and there it was again, they all (except from Sheepy and Meka) saw it this time,

"Call the police" Sniper wisely said.

Tony picked up the phone and said "The lines Dead"

er-no gulped and then the windo above their heads caved in,

Dringo, Notable Hunter stood on the table all Notables and Tony stood around him in disbelief. Dringo leaped in the air and kicked Sheepy and Meka in the head with individual feet.

er-no said "Hi Dringo"
"oh hi er-no how are you" Dringo replied talking to him
"Nothing just chatting with these guys" er-no continued

FM came up from behind Dringo raised his fist and hit him whilst talking to er-no. Grix thraves smiled and his brain took control of Dringo's and pinned him to the floor!

"wait a go Grix" Chimed the Notables whilst er-no remained silent.

"What shall we do with him boss" Sniper asked Tony,
"Take him for a little swim" Tony said
"No guys don't be stupid" Said er-no

just then there was a knock at the door:

Sheepy opened the door, standing in the soaking rain holding an axe in both hands and said; "Hello boys i'm back"

"ahhhhhhh" they all screamed and scarpered

Dringo hit Meka in the nuts and he fell to the floor and they both gave chase in to Tonys garden,

(Typical scooby doo chase music and scene) Dringo and edge finally caught them,
"aha any last requests" Dringo asked

"Why Dringo why" er-no asked "We are only people trying to make FOG a better place, we are just people trying desperatly hard to become who we are today and to be called a Notable is the greatest honour with had in out puny little lives and look what happens..."

er-no's plea touched Dringo as Edgy raised his axe, "wait" cried Dringo

Edgy looked up, "let them go" Dringo said as he walked off

Dringo looked up to the sky, did he really hate notables who was he just jealous? Whatever it maybe he might one day be a notable and if that happens it will indeed be a great honour.

I say we just leave it as it is.

True Regulars and true Notables don't need a fancy colour and a little tag under their name, they know who they are. I suppose it's there to help the Newbies. But hey what the hell, I say we just leave it as it is.

I agree with every bit of that, except for the bit about posting absolute trash to get our word counts up. Before the rankings were introduced, we used to post absolute trash anyway, just not as often.

/me goes off to reminisce about ye olde days of ye FOG, dreaming about the song spoofs and poetry that used to abound, ye merry posting of ye spoof news threads, ye witty banter and intercourse that used to pervade throughout ye hallowed threads of ye olde forums...

I wasn't here before the ranking system was introduced, but from what I hear it's caused ten times as much trouble as satisfaction. Instead of a bit of fun it has started innumerable topics whining about how the notables act superior and how regulars are bullying newbies and so on. It just creates bitter competition and resentment. Worse, stupid people brainwashed by the prospect of becoming a regular post absolute trash to get their word count and posts up.

I say get rid of it, and get rid of it now. Everyone knows who to respect and read the posts of and who to ignore, and I am fed up of constant complaints about it.
