The next Dragon Warrior (AKA Dragon Quest) game is coming to the Nintendo GAMECUBE.

That might not mean much to you, but it is actually very, very important as to who will gain the greatest market share over the next generation of consoles.

The Dragon Warrior games are the most popular selling RPG series of games in Japan, with the last game outselling any of the Final Fantasy games by a distance.

With the support of Enix (the developers of Dragon Warrior) firmly behind Nintendo many of the other big Japanese developers may also give the GAMECUBE more support than they initially planned.

Enix have previously developed for Nintendo, during the SNES days, helping to make the console the success that it was. They then turned their attention to Playstation, again, a very successful console. Enix have made it quite clear that they are not happy with the Playstation 2, but the desicion to put their support behind Nintendo so emphatically will come as quite a shock to many.

The future of the GAMECUBE is looking brighter by the day, it looks as if there will be a healthy amount of high class RPG's available on a Nintendo platform again soon, and it's about time too!

I've got the Game Boy Color version: Dragon Warrior Monsters

I got it cos it's similar to Pokémon and I heard it was really good.

It is really good however you can only keep a certain amount of monsters, and I just kept getting board when training them up for the next battles....

It is also very repetative which is probably it's biggest downside.

Weren't Enix the group behind a game called "D"?

I think they might've been the ones who made Mischief Makers on the N64 (I love that game)

I've heard that they're big in Japan but I've hardly heard of them.
