I know there's already at least one topic about the ODM situation, but I can't find it.

due to 'clocks'

Well, my sub copy of Official Dreamcast Magazine came through the door yesterday, and as I picked it up I noticed the 'important notice' leaflet on the front. (s'funny how you always notice important notices, but I digress...) The gist of this notice was that they were no longer doing subscriptions to ODM due to the fact that it was going bi-monthly. Well, the alternative is to wait and do nothing, then get a couple of copies of C&VG for every copy I had left of ODM (which is a massive '1')

After that £5 would be taken from my bank account henceforth and hung from the noses of C&VG publishers every 3 months.

Well, the question (and indeed, the point of this fairly pointless topic) is do I accept this kind offer, or cancel? Well, I have two copies before I decide, but I wondered what everyone else thought of C&VG?!

It was great and unique until it ditched the "Freeplay" thing inside 2 years ago.

After that it just became another one of those "modern look, mass market mags".

It was great with it's cheap image and the pixellated high 5 system. After that it lost it's charm.

I've always stuck with OPSM, then OPS2. But that's Sony.

I used to subscribe to C&VG for about 3 years, back when I had my megadrive, and I was very impressed with it at the time.

It went downhill a little since then, and started to look a little thin. I wonder if it was a coincidence that most of my local newsagents stopped seilling it?

I've bought a few issues of it in the last few years, and it's not too bad. Are they still doing the retro section? That was very cool. Only a shadow of it's former self though. Maybe it's improved a little since then - I haven't bought an issue in nearly a year now - but I think you're better of with something else. Arcade is my personal favourite at the moment.

It's OK, but you're better with a dedicated mag.
