You're a new kid! Hi! Sorry, but I can't help. I'm thinking of getting a network adapter myself but with all this trouble you're having, i'm not too sure!
TO get this I had to buy a special modem/router which allows the ps2 to connect, you get this for £20 when you sign up with bt broadband.
I'm getting My PS2 online after my holiday (I get back on the 21st) and I should be able to set it up quickly because I used to have it before.
