Most people have a watch which they can use to tell the time. If not, perhaos you'll have a mobile phone with the Inspector Gadget ringtone, or something similarly annoying. In any case, they also tell the time.
There are plenty of other devices which tell the time, too - like computers, VCR's, etc. In fact, just about anything electronic now doubles as a timekeeper. What's next? Electronic pencil cases that tell the time? No more glory for the standalone clock.
