Lava Lamp, Pencil Case, Gadget, Clock!

Great now all that rubbish is over we can talk about gaming!

I am here to talk about clock frequency! Ironic as it may be...

Even though it's almost solely games nowadays that the companies rely on for success the actual power of a console and how fast it goes it a deciding factor on what games are produced and developed... and the capabilities of the console could be a very big factor in deciding which developers develop for which console(s)

The fastest machine of the Next-Gen console wars, according to clock frequency is the Gamecube... and that runs at about 460 Mhz. It is very fast and hopefully should work with the open GL to provide some smashing graphics at an alarming frame-rate. Next is the X-Box with 233 Mhz, also very fast but although the X-Box was made with no 'gamer' intervention or ideas I don't think it will still succeed... although it isn't as fast as the Gamecube it is, despite popular thinking, a little easier to develop for because of the PC engine.

I remember turbonutter going on about how the PS2 was the most disadvantaged console because of it's clock frequency of about 209Mhz, but that doesn’t really matter because the emotion engine takes a lot of the pressure and problems off the main processor! Turbo, you know nothing!

Er-No agrees with me that the PC/IBM type console the X-Box will do well as the fast-ish processor allows for super speedy game play... and although the processor isn't as fast as the 485Mhx Gamecube the support agents also known as the hard-drive and the XP3 Chip mean that it can run just as fast.....

Clock frequency its very important, but as Miyamoto said it isn't everything... and for Nintendo to do anywhere near as well and Microsoft and Sega are going to do they need to re-think the whole system spec of the Gamecube!

Also, with the GBA running at 109Mhz the Gamecube will have to have a Mhz clocking of about 1006.5 to be compatible. Clock frequency is a factor just like lots of other things, but it could be more important than graphics of EVEN gameplay in years to come!
