What I wondered, before I buy my PS2 from SR, could someone please tell me what the DVD Quality is like when played through the PS2? Cheers!

Impressive - Most impressive - I have had hardly any problems with the PS2 DVD player and cant actually tell the differebce between that and a £300 stand alone player!!
Its good, alot of people say they have problems but i think thats mostly the early models. I bought one a while back and mine is fine. No problems at all.
Damn good, its like DVD quality. Well really the quality depends on what leads you used to connect your PS2 to your TV. RGB i.e Normal scart leads not the one with the PS2 is the best quality. Great I hear you say but for most people i.e. 99.9% this leads to green colour screen with the DVD being displayed in a green tint. I've heard that some people dont get this. The screen turns green as Sony disabled the RGB from the DVD. So all this means that you can watch DVD's while you have the PS2 connected via a RGB scart cable.
If you use the normal leads given with PS2 then the quality is great, much better than VHS. You wouldnt really need any better quality. S-Video leads are the best for the DVD as it doesnt turn them green and gives better quality picture from the DVD and the games.
If you stick with the leads given then quality is good and you wont need a stand alone DVD player unless you want to get American DVD's as the PS2 wont play them yet. But theres a Action Replay style card that is coming out that will change the region code.
