Thought I would report back on U3! For those that have not heard about it (I had'nt) its a Pendrive / flashdrive call it what you will drive, and it comes in various sizes and colours! I have a Gunmetal gray one and it stores 1Gb of info. Now where U3 comes into its own is that it comes with "software" pre installed. So what I hear you all cry, well the software that comes with it includes image viewers and password enabling on the drive, but it also has a dedicated web site all about U3. you can download Browsers and many other items for FREE (its a word I like at this time of year) or buy software depending on your needs.

So whats the point? well You can use FirefoxU3 on the drive and Thunderbird for email, and if you are on the road a lot like me all your bookmarks are stored on the drive and the emails etc so no matter what PC you use = all your information is on the drive, and you can password protect it, nice and handy! I give it 9/10 dropped a point because it was wrapped in that plastic that teeth cant open! and bites back when you try to use scissors to open it :-)

The other great thing about those portable apps is you can just unzip them onto your network drive and run without having to install.
I use the portable Firefox at uni.

Well I downloaded your one to my old flashdrive 512MB and its pretty full now with software not a lot of room so any one going for option 2 make sure you have a fairly big drive at least 1GB but better still 2GB although I see there is a light version of this prog.

If (like me) you use Flash Storage but haven't bought a 'U3' device you can use many of the applications for free on any brand storage device (like this 2gb Pen Drive from Freeola http://freeola.com/shop/2-gb-usb-pen-drive-6007-uk.htm creepy-crawler!) it looks like U3 use apps from PortableApps.com
