Anyone who played Mir 2 will be glad to know that Mir 3 isn't being run by GameNetwork. On the downside it's being run by ex-Mir2 players but hey, anything's better than GameNetwork.

Open Beta was meant to start between 10-11am today, but in fine Mir tradition it's delayed, but could go live anytime now following last minute testing.

Free open beta, something like a 360MB download, open beta expected to last a few weeks at least, one of the most addictive games ever created.

I remember that.

The game made 'clunk' and 'grapffaww' sounds every now and then, and it was just hack/hack/hack/repeat. Poor.

The best thing was that it was all in full FMV and looked quite impressive, and then they showed you the game and it was a couple of blurry sprites wandering around a brown dungeon hacking endlessly at small spiders who scuttled around everywhere. It's like there was no relation between the FMV and the game AT ALL. And the guy used to say stuff like "the new patch which fixes the bug in the second dungeon is out now, so al get downloading. There will be a new patch soon to add a fix for the golden armour glitch." and so on.

I remember watching Gamenetwork one night, it was just some boring guy reading out from a piece of paper while Mir 2 played in the background. It was almost enough to put me off gaming for good, not due to the game though, which didn't appeal to me anyway.

Hah... oh dear. I did enjoy slaughtering the chickens.

MMORPG's don't get me going, mainly because it seems like 99% of people playing are absolute... yup.

I take it all back. If the first day of open beta for Mir 3 is a sign of things to come, stay WELL clear of Mir 3. Total shambles.
