But lo and behold, the remote didn't work, and I was deprived of my beautiful digital choice. I phoned up the nice people at customer information to inquire why this was happening, and they tried to reprogram my remote, but this didn't work either. And so, I was told I needed to buy a new remote from the nice people at In Home Services, and so I sent off my cheque and waited patiently. However, come two weeks, no remote was in my hand, and no digital was on my screen.
So (stay with me!) I phoned up the nice people at In Home services and politely inquired as to the whereabouts of my remote, or my money more importantly, and surprise surprise, they'd never heard of me. So I phoned up those f*@#*!^* people at Sky and told them that I was not happy, and that I was baying for their blood. Jenny from customer sales didn't know quite how to take this and so referred me to Customer Manager Steve. So I recounted for Steve all the unpleasantries of which I was going to carry out upon Sky, and he seemed rather displeased. In fact, things got a bit violent and threats were thrown down the phone like Pakistani cricket balls aimed at English stumps.
Such was the intensity of this conversation that Steve bellowed down the phone how I was going to regret this, and how Sky would hunt me down and get all interactive on me with their menacing red buttons. I now see Sky vans parked round the corner, watching and waiting for the perfect moment to strike, always fearing for my life!
Well, pretty much.

Thanks for the consideration, but I've been flicking through channels on the digibox ever since my remote failure, having to get down onto the floor and make the effort of moving and it gets to be really annoying after a while. I felt it was my right to be lazy and slouch in my chair for hours upon hours without having to move, having ultimate power of choice in the palm of my hand!
Anyway, I was exaggerating the scenario; my remote should be on its way...otherwise Steve will get what's coming to him!

exactly what I was thinking. :)
"I can?"
"Yes!"
"AHH FRIENDS!!!" runs to the box
Also it may interest you to go to your local Index store and purchase the One4All Digital Remote. It costs £30, but not only does it work Sky Digital, but your TV,VCR and, if you have one, your DVD player. On the other hand you can use the AUX key for another TV, VCR or even ONDigital if you have it too.
Then all you have to do cancel the cheque, if the money hasnt been taken yet.
You could also try removing the plug from the mains for 20 seconds and reconnect. That will usually make your remote work again as this has been happening to me too a lot recently. I think it is all down to the Personal Planner that has recently been installed on everyones box. Like Microsoft the software is absolute crap. For instance i set it to change to Sky One on Monday at 9pm for Stargate SG-1. But instead on Saturday morning at 9am it changed to Sky One for an episode of Pokemon. Weird huh?
Anyway hope one of these solutions works for you.
