The most popular sports game availiable.Football,Many companies have tried to recreate the beautiful game in its true form.Many have failed while some have succeded.
The fifa series has sold millions of copies worldwide and creates many football fans dreams to play at their favourite stadium or proudly wear the Beckham's no.7 shirt.It has been every console under the sun and has enjoyed success with every one.It is a great game,no doubt.Great graphics,great liscenses and great gameplay but there have been some real dodgy examples of Footy.
One of these is actua soccer on the playstation.It was just plain awful.I remmember when i first played it, I nearly cried, it was hurting my eyes.Another footy game would be sensible soccer on the amiga, though it is loved by all,it was too hard to control the ball which made it very unplayable in my books.Others include the virtua striker sereis which had the graphicsbut sadly relied on this the most, the game was an arcade title and didnt port very well to the console.World wide Soccer was another sega football game that went wrong, The graphics were good,gameplay good but it handled like a pitbull chasing after the postmen.
But the great game has had some classic momments. I have already mentioned the FIFA series which is great, but there are others such as Uefa Striker on the PSX/DC, which i enjoyed immensely.It was great fun to play and had stylish graphics and i would recommend it to anyone. But there is one game which I havent mentioned yet which had created the perfect game in videogame form....This is off course ISS.
The series represented all that was great about our nations most loved sports. Though it didnt have the liscence of FIFA, it has an element which takes into the top,this is off course its faultless gameplay.It made all fans fall back in love with the game.It let footballholics feed their addiction when football wasnt on the box.It is the best example of football on this earth and I for one cant wait for the next addition to the series.
Football has had many highs and lows but the beautiful game has shined throughout,letting couch potatoes watch their heroes on the box and now technology has grown so much that they now dont have to watch the game on the TV,they can be in it.Touch the grass,taste the atmosphere, Relish the freedom of Wembley stadium while it lasts.Football,our sport has been represented to its fullest thanks to the creativity of the developers
