Banjo Kazzoie
Banjo Tooie
Didy Kong Racing
Donkey Kong 64
Mario games
Pokemon games
Alot of people complain about the lack of 'adult' games. So what are Nintendo going to do about it? Do they continue letting 'cutesy' games get through the market? Do they change there style all together? Or do they have a mix of both to please all?
Well in my mind, and many other Nintendo fans minds, the 64 was abit to childish in there games. As these were often fun to play on, they did get kind of repetive.
Have Nintendo already acted on this. They have already changed cute in image Conker to a drugged up, swear'a'lot psycho that kills poo. Though this is only one character, what about Donkey, Diddy, Pokemon, Mario and company. Chaning all these to the same 'Bad Conker' style would be silly. So then what? Forget about them all together... but surely they would be missed? It's up to Nintendo, but they really need to let the fans choose. The biggest two 'cute' starts are listed below:
Mario- He is the image of Nintendo, he can't go, Mario games have to stay.
Pokemon- brought Gameboy back to life, no matter what people think, Pokemon has to stay.
So what do we suggest for the others? Keep them, make games on them and at the same time make gorey games?
Well in a magazine i read, I am not sure, it could have been NOM, It sated that Nintendo hope to change their 'cutesy' image.
Is this true- take a look at some of the titles in production:
-Pikmin- very cute
-Smash bros melee- A good mix, fighting, but not quite adult
-Wave race- Not cute, but not adult, the in between thing!
-Lugi's mansion- kind of cute, but needed his own game anyway.
-Mickey mouse- CUTE
-Dinosaur planet- Seems to show that the cute image of Star -Fox team has changed, it make them look alot better now.
-Metroid planet- YES! SAMUS! not cute, just what we have been waiting for.
-Kameo- don't know to much, but I have seen pics and looks intresting. Not cute
-Star Wars- Not cute
-Eternal Darkness- Blood, obviuosly not cute
-Raven Blade- Another blood 'n gore title
From that list there seems to be a good range of cute, a bit of anything and Blood 'n Gore!!!
Does any one else think this shows a change in Nintendo's Tradition. I think they are aiming the GameCube for older people, and hoping it sells well. With a mixture of everything. They hope to balance out the style of games to impress everyone. Does this spoil their image and is it to strange for Nintendo? Or is it going to be for the better?
What are your opinions?

As for Banjo-tooie. Well i played it for half an hour and got very bored. I liked the opening sequence. I love cut-scenes. But it does get a bit annoying having to read all that text. i didnt get very far before i turned it off. I have never played it since.
The likes of Donkey Kong and Mario don't have to be cute as they were on the N64 but the cartoony image of them on the Snes is how they should stay.
If you're trying to say that cute games are poor then go and get a playstation!
the gamecube seems to be more sneslike than 64like. the 64 was just the odd one out. Nintendo Gamecube will go back to nintendos roots and provide us with a balanced variety of games to please all.
