As I said, it's all up to the third party developers in the end and packaging and shipping to warehouses costs a fortune, especially important if you're unsure whether you will see any returns from it.

pb - just trying to see it from their side...

Even so i think they owe it to all dc owners who were looking forward to this title,to well bring it our.Considering how close it was to completion.I dont see the point of canning it when it si nearly finished.SEGA promised games for the DC,now they are dropping faster than flys in a greek kebab shop

Shall I tell you what happens when a console stops production, dear friends?

Sega aren't restricting people from releasing more games, it's more likely that, as happens when the user base is uncertain, the games companies look at their dropping numbers of potential customers and re-evaluate whether spending all that money on advertising and packaging will really pay off in the end.

Sierra aren't mad, and they certainly aren't in business just for the fun of it, so if they see profit margins turning into loss then they won't release a game, even if that game is already completed.

Sega, on the other hand, have handed over all their peripheral sales to another company, so that people will still get the same service and range as before, leaving Sega themselves free to concentrate on software, which they will use to regain their losses. Also, you have to remember that most games and console companies at the moment are not actually making a profit anyway, it's more about how much in the red they actually are.

Needless to say, if Sony had sudden problems with PS2 sales and their losses were greater, they wouldn't just pull out of the games market either, they would re-think their strategy and try another route.

Wait a minute, I think you may want to find out exactly what happened before you start accusing Sierra of anything. As you may well know it was Sega's decision to can Black and White for the DC, so this may be the case here. Sega are doing a Nintendo in Europe at the moment, they don't really seem to care and just see it as somewhere to make a little money. They are closing down operations right across Europe, they really are up to no good, and still are not making a profit. Could be time for them to say goodbye!!
