there have been alot of rumours saying that Juan Veron maybe signing for Man Utd. although Utd have denied it, I believe that a signing like this would benefit English football greatly. Veron is one of the worlds top players when he is on form and he could attract more of the worlds best to the premiership. So lets hope they do sign him and many others follow him.
apparetnly he told the the daily mirror that he will be joining Man utd as early as this week. apparetnly the discussions were at an advanced stage before the passport thingy started.
I seem to remember this Veron rumour aoccuring about this time last year aswel, does any one else?
His trial is over and he isn't getting banned. He is still making his mind up and dosn't know where he is going. He sayed he would like to play for united, it is doubtful he will stay with Lazio but other Italien sides might be interested.
Its not as if veron done this straight away. he has been in Italy for many years and this only happened becasue Lazio have got so many non-eu players. This was probably more down to Lazio than veron. they can only play a certain amount of non-eu players.
Some ex-EU players are actualluy resorting to marrying European women just so they can obtain EU citizenry, and thus play for a European club without a work permit. Maybe clubs should start a training academy for beautiful young women, and groom them so that they become worthwhile options in securing high-financed deals!

Why because it proves that if you lie to get a passport then you shouldn't be punished. Just think of all those illegal immigrants who get booted out of countries every year, all this guy did was lie about his ancestory and walk off a plane into open arms!! He deserves a ban and to be punted back to Argentina!!!
Veron has publically said he is not moving to utd. Man utd have denied the rumours.
And it seems as though veron is going to get a 2yr worldwide ban for his dodgy passport. So he wont be playing for anybody. It would be a sad day for football in general if the ban is imposed.
