I've noticed that sometimes when i play my dvds the sound seems to go from loud to quiet and back again especially when there is a lot of action i.e explosions etc. It seems to do this regularly on films like Armageddon and X-men. I did'nt know if it was because I havn't got a surround sound system and my speakers could not cope with 5.1 Dolby digital
When you have a DVD movie inserted press select and you get the on screen menu. Go to the options and fiddle with the sound settings e.t.c to see if that helps.
