As there's a group of SR shops in Essex, I guess a lot of us will be going to V again this year. And I would like to argue that this year is simply the best yet, in terms of the line-up. I've only been once before (99) although I have listened to them all due to proximity of my house.
So what do we think? And is there anyone out there who doesn't like the bands that are playing?
If anyone doesn't know who's playing then I'll stick in a list for you:
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Foo Fighters
David Gray
Placebo
Neil Finn
Idlewild
Feeder
Powderfinger
Toploader
The Divine Comedy
Doves
Starsailor
Ben Folds
The Webb Brothers
Turin Brakes
Ed Harcourt
Ian Brown
Grandaddy
Tricky
Sparklehorse
Rae and Christian
Alfie
The Bush The Tree and Me
Witness
Haven
Texas
Coldplay
The Charlatans
Faithless
Embrace
Nelly Furtado
Nina Pearson (The Cardigans)
Spooks
Muse
JJ72
Shed Seven
Wheatus
Pheonix
Snow Patrol
Kylie Minogue
Avalanches
Alabama 3
Zero 7
Hooverphonic
Relish
Michael Franti
There are some really great bands in there, and some really rubbish ones too.
I'll be sitting with a beer, listening to people like David Gray and Neil Finn mellow the whole place out. But I will also this year join the mosh for Chili's and maybe even go check out what little Kylie's wearing (well you gotta just check aint ya).
I'll look forward to seeing many of you sitting there against the f****d fence with a pale green complexion, and maybe even a half digested hot dog sitting in your lap.
