Ever played Dungeon Keeper before? if you haven't then what meaning does your life have without playing the dark side of a lord of the rings style game with orcs, warlocks, trolls, imps, hellhounds, and the old favourite the Horned Reaper (aka. Horny) the ultimate of killing machines. You defend your dungeon against the likes of hero characters and even other dungeon keepers such as yourself and you find out who's tough enough to completely obliterate the world level by level destroying 20 challenging areas full of enemies. Each one with it's own objective on how to win the level, which all the time requires some sort of battle to the death with any enemy that you cross paths with.
I have recently just found out my DK gold version i tried to use for the win 98 never worked, but i found out it works perfectly fine on the XP which is very surprising as 've tried other old games before and this is the first to work.

Most second hand online prices for it are something like £1.50.

I'll check it out, should be going dirt cheap now anyway so I won't loose much if I find it dissapointing.

Yeah Dungeon keeper 2 is quite good, but like most modern games it's prone to cheats, whereas the first one you could use no cheats and that's what made it hard and fun. But it's still pretty good.

Is dungeon Keeper 2 worth getting then? I never bought it when it was first released due to me having a crappy computer at the time, and have since seemed to have let it slip by. Playing the Evil Genius demo makes me remember the fun I had with the orignal, so am curious as to whether the second plays as good.

I'll have a look around for this at the shops later, doubt they'll have it though.

The reason I mention Evil Genius despite the fact it plays almost the same as dungeon keeper, is that with no Dungeon Keeper 3 in the works, Evil Genius is the next best thing.

Yes but which was created first?

I've just easily gotten back up to level 18 out of the 20 overall, and I intend to defeat the level unlike I couldn't do when i first played it. it's not that the level was absolutely difficult, you just really need to work your socks off to protect your dungeon quickly before the enemy break through the un-fortified walls.

Get Evil Genius. Dungeon Keepr in all but name and setting. Played the demo and was amazed at just how uncanny the two where.

It's at least 9/10 years old, it's an original game idea for it's time.
Anyway i've now started using the Dk editor to create maps and alter the deeper dungeon levels to whatever advantage i want. This comes with the DK gold editon though so it's exclusive to only that. It's quite fun as it's very simple to use and lets you do absolutely everything like putting entire armies of creatures in your dungeon, having more than 1 dngeon heart, put hundreds of specials in, hundreds of traps, gem blocks anywhere you want, gold fortification anywhere, any creature bad or good can be selected for which colour they ally with and at any level you want too. It's great as you can put down 100 Avatars at level 10 in your own dungeon, or start with level 10 imps for quick digging early on.
