This game is set to be released on the 6th July and it looks fantastic, brought to you by Capcom the masters of survival horror (of course).

The game looks like one of the PS2's best and has tons of realistic blood effects,Although going into Japanese history the story may not appeal to everyone but this looks like another top quality game from Capcom.

I'll be picking this up when it's released and i recommend checking it out.

I ordered Onimusha on the 4th, and it still hasn't came.

I got Red Faction for my b/day (Sunday), and I'm yawning as I type... because I was playing it until 1 'o clock!

Yeah, but I thought the fogging on that one worked well.

A genuine sense of panic when your radio crackles but you can't see anything coming.
Worse inside the buildings though, especially the school and hospital.

Jesus, pitch black except for your torch light, sudden jumps and bangs.

Imagine Eraserhead made into a game, or The Exorcist you can play.

Nasty, evil, atmospheric and cool as hell.

I'm keeping an eye on that, but I'm not sure I'll get it. I never bought the first one because I didn't like the fogging.

I know that on both games the fogging is there purely for atmoshphere, but I find it too off-putting.

Has anybody managed to do all 12 levels of the Oni Spirits mini game? I keep on getting to the last level but i can't complete it.
Also what's the highest grade you have got so far? I can get an "A" grade.

I think this game is far superior than the Resident Evil series. The monsters are more challenging and do require a certain level of skill and tactics to defeat, especially the bosses. The last boss is slightly dissapointing however. The puzzles are also more challenging and the trcik tresure chests are very good as well.
Saying that, i'm still waiting for Resident Evil Code Veronica and Silent Hill 2.

Silent Hill 2 is the one for me.

*shudder*

The 1st one genuinely was disturbing, and this new one looks a tad more intense.

I can't believe the whole of the first weekend of Onimusha's availability has passed without anyone mentioning it on the PS2 forum! I suppose we're all just too busy playing it, eh?

So what do we all think of it?

I got it Saturday morning, and my PS2 has only been off for brief periods while I eat and sleep. It's awesome, and has gone straight to the top of by 'best PS2 games' chart - it's awesome! The pre-rendered backgrounds are a bit old-skool, but stunningly beatiful; and the characters... well, it's almost like a CGI movie, isn't it?!

I got Extermination 2 days before I went to Florida, and I played it non-stop... Red Faction arrived from SR while I was away, and it was all I played until Saturday... Onimusha has taken over. When I complete it (which should be soon) I'll go back to Red Faction, then when that's complete, I'll go back to Extermination... I think...
