Do Americans have Christmas Crackers? I foolishy assumed all who celebrated Christmas knew what a Christmas Cracker was, but I was wrong. Took me 10 minutes to explain it to my girlfriend. Apparently they're a British invention and called Bon Bon's in Australia =S
Cant remember seeing them in US movies or TV shows, hm I wonder what's that like, a christmas with no awful jokes *groans*, stupid paper hats and annoying little puzzles =D

These are Christmas Crackers =)
According to Wikipedia, it was invented in 1847 by a Londener called Tom Smith, as a development of his bon-bon sweets. Except he tried mottos instead of jokes with his sweets.
Perhaps it's a good thing they're not big in America, they create a lot of rubbish for a minutes entertainment =)

bet they would`ve been if they`d been invented there ;P
I think it was the Bon Bon description that threw me off to think they were some kind of hor d'oeuvres or something.. I'll bet you anything Machie's girl was thinking the same thing.
But they're not pink or left on buses.
