Does it need EXTREME sounds that use voices in a game and has stunning speacial effects that blow you away with their surround sound system!
Or does it need good Gameplay, that will keep you hooked for months 24:7 (GBA advert) and is so interesting and different that it is so appealling!
Or is it the lastability of the game, that it will last you months until you complete the one player mode based on an average gamers ability.
Well what I think is it needs all of those things!
A lot of you have said in past topics named stuff like your perfect game!?
That you don't care how good the sound or graphics are as long as its got either a good plot, or storyline and is addictive!
Well I would definately not buy it if I saw it in a magazine say like CVG! I would read the caption:
This has great lastability and is extremely addictive! but then looked at the screenshots and couldn't quite make out since it was all blocky, blurry, not lighting or speacial effects, no textures in the backgrounds it would look old,
and the novelty would be gone in a puff of smoke.
So really to make a good game you need all.
Now you can post your comments on what you think at the end but this is a perfect game for me!
You can do one of your own if you like!
Genre: Simulation-God game/RPG.
It would have elements from games such as Cossacks where you create your own city's and armies for war and such, with bits that resemble games like Black and White where you are worshipped and can create miracles.
But also you'd be able to do stuff that you would in RPG style games such as Zelda/Final Fantasy etc.
GAME:
It would start off with multiplayer, co-op (have to be unlocked when you get to a certain stage in the game), and one-player mode.
The one-player mode being the main game along with the co-op mode is where you'd start off your game, and you enter your name, so you could be known by people in the game and worshipers as e.g. Lord Zeldapro/God ZP!
:-)
Then you get the chance to design your world here you must add mountains, a limited amount of plant life, water and where it must go, land and the hight and depth and how much of it can be on your world or you can click on autochoose which would do it for you!
Then you go into a mode like on Black & White where you can see stuff quite close to the ground and you are still looking down on things, then also on black & White you must find a small group of people and get them on your side and again you can learn new miracles and get them to build stuff for you!
But you then after going so long in the game, get a group of really dedicated disiples that do your bidding just like the peasants on Cossacks, they will do your bidding and you can reward them to keep them loyal by giving them money, nice things or make one of them king (but he would only obey you and wouldnt make his own descisions) or if you want to be civil a Parliment thing or something. And they will do stuff like get your fellow villagers and inhabitants of YOUR world to make army barracks, new houses, give out jobs like carpenter and farmer to them so they can earn there own living where unlike on Black & White they were always asking you to give them food, and money and armies, they can mange themselves MOSTLY.
Then comes the part when you unlock the co-op. If your loyal disciples ordered your people to build a few temples or something then your band of loyal disciples grows and grows and your people will worship you and give offering and want miracles performed and the odd help or you decide to build stuff etc. Then your original band of loyal disciples realise that they have done their job and sacrifice themselves to you and then you gain enough power that you can't control and a hige blast is sent down to your Earth and a new man is born this man can perform miracles, has upped strength than a normal man by 50 times and is 10 times as intelligent!
He is the human form of your godly self! This means that although yoyu aren't as powerful in your own world you can still partially command weather, not haveing to sleep for up to 4 days, and having 50 times a normal mans strenght and having certain powers like flying a certain distance, fire, ice and magnetic powers etc.
But the reason this actually happens is part of the story in the game, there is a huge war coming between all the worlds (altogether there is about 10) and they will all be wiped out including yours unless you can use and guide your human self to gather a party of however many men you see fit but with different powers and abilities to lead your world to victory, by equipping new weapons and teaching certain members of your army magic or bestowing onto them the ability to use magic, but you must then battle your way through other worls that might have inhabitants like 20ft beasts, a world with a truly evil god that you must defeat with the help of your god (YOU) etc.
Unitl this is completed your world is still in danger.
Your quest would not just consist of battling other being from different worlds but, puzzles, mazes, and enjoyable and difficult side quest that lead you to answers, new army members that you WILL need and items that will help you! And there would be a leveling thing to it like in m,ost RPG's you get experince and with levels come new spells and stats!
And this can be used in the co-op mode, when you click on that option player 1 the main player will decide if he wants to stay as your human form or become your godly form which WILL have to be used in the last battle, but or you could be your human form and your friend could be another important member of your party and could swithc between different people.
In the multiplayer you would be different gods, you could pick from 12 choices pre-stored on the game or from the god you are on the main game, but they would all have stats and different abilities, but if you choose your god he would have the level and stats form the game.
Then you have a huge war between each other just a godly death match!
SOUND:
It would have great sounds to accompany the great speacial effects that come from casting spells the huge explosion when you had a human form. And huge moans from beasts and dying people.
And in the last battle where your human self must stand at the side and watch you (as your self playing) battle with one of the most powerful and most evil gods but no matter how nuch you have levelled up and trained, a cut-scene will take over and show you getting knocked to the ground and dying, then another cutscene showing your world fall into darkness since the god dyed and plants drooping and peole going grey skinned then a timer would appear which symbolised how much time until your world was completely destroyed.
Then you run in as yourself hopefully levelled up, and when you beat him the timer stops and a cutscene comes into play and your player stops and drops to his knees, and then backs away form the enemy god and since no mortal can defeat him and knocks you to the side then your player gets angry and fires his most powerful attack at the same time so does the enemy and you both drop dead, but since you are a self image of a god you become a new god for your world just before the timer ends saving the world and the effects on stuff like that would be amazing.
Well that would be an ideal game for me.
You can post a comment on what you really think what a game needs or what your ideal game would include and what it would be about.
Or Bothe!

:-)
Never mind ZP.
(;0( Sad that I just read the entire post to find out I have nothing more to add.
