Seems that you can't set-up ranked games yourself and you won't be able to necessarily play with your friends in them. It should definetly sort out the mongtards who cheat online, but if you keep getting lumbered with a bunch of goobers and a crap game set-up then I fear it could get quite annoying.
Guess I just won't be playing many ranked games then. Other than that it's sounding quite excellent.

Meh, ever since losing interest in Ranked games on SC:PT and CS, I doubt I'll be bothered with that announcement. It'll be more fun playing free games with your friends anyways.
Most of that I'd heard before in various forms, but the thing that impressed me most is the "proximity voice chat". Basically, it's coming from your player and reacts as other sounds do, so you'll only be able to hear if you're within earshot. I'll spend ages just doing that.
So you're saying you'll only be able to talk to one another if you're right next to them basically?
Or if you hold the white button then you can talk to all of your team when you like.

You have to press white to talk to everyone, but the fact that they've put this in shows how much effort they're putting into the little things. I'm hopnig it means that you'll be able to eavesdrop on other teams conversations - that would be awesome!
Good. Sounds much better. The white button will basically be like a radio headset type thing then? It does sound a little awkward though, like if you're both on opposite sides of the map snipering at one point keeping each other informed where the enemy is, aiming, shooting etc all whilst holding down the white button.
Actually the more I think of it this proximity voice chat thing could be very cool.
