Nearly 12 years ago Nintendo released an 8-bit handheld console, it's name the Gameboy its purpose to be a miniture NES which people can paly on holiday. Thanks to tetris it was a smash hit!

Yet 11 years on and the console has yet to move so much. Sure the big bulky Gameboy was replaced with the short and compact Gameboy Pocket, the Japanese were lucky to get the Gameboy Light a back lit version of the Gameboy, We even got a jump into colour but the system still stayed basically the same as an 8-bit console!

Now 12 years that is about to change, the GBA is the bit Nintendo missed out (their first 32 bit system)and it will be excellent.

I have just seen Alone in the Dark 4 on the Gameboy Colour if a 8-bit system can do that imagine what the Gameboy advanced can do if we push it to its limits! I hope we can play mini versions of Gamecube titles maybe you could download mini GBA games from Gamecube games onto blank carts that'll shift a few Gamecubes!

I cannot wait until the 22nd can you?

The GBA isn't really 32 bit.

If it's playing Snes stuff then it's 16bit really.

It's got or 2 32bit features but don't expect any Playstation or Saturn quality games from it.

This isn't a bad thing (16bit machines are great) but that's what it is.

The GBA isn't Nintendo's first 32-bit system! They had the Virtualboy which flopped.

The GBA is a huge step forward by Nintendo though!

The GBA is excellent, i got a jap import and Advance GTA and it's cool. At first i wasnt too happy with it because the screen is quite hard to see but after seeing mario advance running on someone elses GBA i saw that Advance GTA is just a dark game (and i can always buy a light).
It will be well worth the wait!
