Some bands just never seem to grow up, and I'm pleased to tell you that Blink 182 have still got the naughty, rebelliousness streak in them that they’ve always been loved for. Along with the likes of Green Day and The Offspring, Blink 182 brought teenage punk-pop to the masses, with catchy hooks and choruses and cheeky schoolboy lyrics. But unlike some other punksters, this trio makes for nice eye candy for the laydees, too.
‘Teenage rules, they’re f**ked and boring’, the Blink cry on opener ‘Anthem Part Two’. Quite right, too. Elsewhere, there are tales of smut and lust, prom nights, rock shows, teenage angst…a melodic punk frenzy that’ll have you up and pogo-ing in no time.
‘Take Off Your Pants And Jacket’ is the perfect album for kids or for the kid in you.
Joey Roman dies of cancer last month.
Go figure.
