The gaming industry used to be so simple. There used to be the Mega Drive and the NES/SNES. The consoles were not that expensive and the games....were they not sooo playable.
Within the space of a year there will be eight consoles around and to buy all eight you would have to be very rich. All these consoles are going to be the death of the indusrty if we are not careful and make a stand.

The whole industry is now about money. Some of the games that come about now are obviously just cheap cash ins on the games playing public. Take for example the FIFA series, year after year they release what is just an update on the previous version and the ISS series which is actually bringing something original into the game is being ignored in place of the license.

Another downside with the industry is that with all the consoles all your mates will not have the same games so the multiplayers will never be as fun becuase every one will be into different games.

So what can we do??

-----Avoid the cash in licenses--FIFA, 007 (some of them) and Simpsons ones to name a few and buy original games----

----Just have two consoles in the industry - however much the likes of Microsoft and Sony believe they have control over us...they dont! If we dont buy their console they will lose a hell of a lot of money...if we avoid certian consoles like the plague then they might get the message that to many consoles will ruin the industry----

Thanks for reading.

In reality we as gamers can't influence the console giants like Sony and Nintendo, it just won't happen. And why bother boycotting a console so that there will only 2 competitors. This will limit our choice which can't be a good thing at all. In a year we will have a choice. If we wanted to lend some money to Bill for the pleasure of playing souped up PC games we can, if we want to play MGS and GT3 we can, and if we prefer Zelda and Mario damn we can play those as well. Why change things, they are fine as they are.
