A fantastic film by the faultless Coen Bros. Not many people watch their movies, and I think that’s a crime.
Plot:
Jeff “Dude” Lebowski is a refugee from the 60’s. His life is bowling, white russians (the drink) and smoking pot. He gets involved in a kidnapping plot when he’s mistaken for the “Big” Lebowski, a rich elderly man.
John Goodman plays his best friend, psychotic Vietnam Vet Walter Sobchak, who has issues about being Jewish.
Steve Buscemi is Donny, the slightly slow and reserved best mate.
I cant praise this one enough, watch it and be amused, offended, entertained and confused.
It has swearing in buckets, lots of bowling, Nihilists that threaten torture by Marmot, chopped off toes, Saddam Hussein working in a bowling alley and a Mexican pederast bowling champ called Jesus.
What more do you need from a movie?
Music? Soundtrack that consists of Bob Dylan, Kenny Rogers, Elvis Costello and The Gypsy Kings with a spanish version of Hotel California.
The Coens never make dull movies, and you shouldnt pass up the chance to watch one on tv.
Trust me, you'll enjoy it.
