So today I pop in. One of my old colleagues who did the same said, "The leaflet did say that didn't it!" but also informed me that he was refused sale and got his fiver back.
I marched over to my old manager, who was actually talking to his regional manager, and said, "hey, I want my fiver back. I've just been told you wont let me have my free game!"
He claimed I must've read the leaflet wrong, however, he was the one who took my pre-order in the first place.
Instead I purchased the DVD elsewhere and shall be writing a nasty letter to Game's head office naming all parties involved and asking what they're going to do about it. I shall wait til I get a response before I buy Battlefront. And shall also threaten to report them to trading standards.
It was to be my last purchase from that particular store anyway. And will only purchase from Game if from the other store I worked at where I know the staff aren't BS'ers...however with Special Reserve and other companies which I wont advertise being more reliable and cheaper, it's not likely to happen often anyway.
I look forward to their response.
The free game would satisfy me.
Not to mention I was a staff member at the time and know how to read a leaflet with less words than a Spot the Dog book printed upon it.
I'm interested to see how this develops. I will be contacting Trading Standards and possibly Watchdog and the local one, The Ferret should I not get a satisfactory response.
Without that you're pretty much going to lose.
