I received my MAXX PC on Friday, and after making sure everything worked okay, I have formatted and re-partitioned the HD.
However, while re-installing everything, I've discovered that I actually have a French/Dutch driver CD for the Sound Blaster Live! 1024 soundcard!
As I type this, I am actually downloading a driver from the Sound Blaster web site, but I would like a UK CD-ROM for any future installations. How should I go about returning this CD for an exchange?
Also, two other minor points...
1. The power LED on my machine didn't work when I received the PC. I know a lot about PC's, so with the help of the board manual was able to determine that the cable was actually connected to the wrong pins on the motherboard, and correct the problem.
2. The photocopied 'PC Road Map' I received with the machine covers previous MAXX models, upto Pentium 3 800. The diagrams and information in them bears no resemblance to the machine I bought (MAXX P4 1.7GHz).
Neither of these two points have caused me any real problems, but I am very experienced with the innards of PC's. However, these issues may cause concern and/or problems for people who know less about them, so it may be something you want to look at sooner rather than later.
Anyway, these things aside, I am extremely happy with the machine. This is my 3rd MAXX, and I recommend them to anyone who may be considering buying one.
Oh, and thanks in advance for any help regarding the exchange of the Sound Blaster CD.
