I've had my pc for about a year now. I have a pentium 4 3.0 processor, with 512mb of ram, I have been planning to upgrade my memory for a while (I will be getting another 2gb when I do upgrade).

Do you think I should upgrade my processor before I upgrade my memory just incase the memory isn’t compatible with the motherboard if I have to buy a new motherboard as well?

The reason for this upgrade is for windows vista and just to make my pc that little bit faster.

Any help would be great. thanks

Chances are you'll need a new processor. Vista requires a 64-bit processor.

Vista requires 512mb minimum.

I wouldn't worry to much about it till release.

Gaming and a little bit of 3d work. Does vista need more than a gig?

I can't imagine youd notice much difference once you get over anoter gig's worth of memory, unless your doing a lot of video editing or 3d work.

i'd ust tget another gig if i was you and put the rest of the money to one side for a future upgrade.

What do uo use your PC for? gaming, office work, editing, 3d work?
