Looking for some advice and pointers to adding a website to search engines.

I have the links to add the site to google, msn, yahoo and altavista.

Any others that are free that I should be looking to add to?

I've added relevant meta data to the pages. Anything else I should be looking to do?

Didn't realise you could direct the robots to specific folders like that.

Code optimisation such as ALT's, TITLE's & Good clean symantic mark-up stripping out as much code as possible.

Robots.txt file can help navigate bots to correct directories and ban them from other to stop them from indexing unwanted stuff.

Good, precise keywords but not singular words as most people use multiple terms for searching, so this requires some thought as to how you think users will search for your site/content.
